Sample Answer:
It is certainly true that, there has been a huge change that took place in our ways of living with time and it is now more developed and convenient than the past. Although I agree with the given statement but I do not agree completely. In my point of view, both of times have their own significances and people are similarly enjoyed and suffered in both eras.

First of all, regarding to the past, a century ago people might had a peaceful life. At that time, the proportion of crime ratio was significantly low. For example, folks usually lived in their community despite having any fear of burglary, steeling, kidnaping or terrorist attacks, which are the most common incidences at present. Secondly, a century ago, there was no problem of traffic congestions, as there was very negligible numbers of four wheelers running on British roads. Moreover, during that time family bonds were very strong. Such as, there was almost zero incidence of family breakdown while now-a-days it is remarked as one kind of tradition.

In present time, there is an improved lifestyle leads by the city people. This is due to advent of modern technology. For instance, internet brings people together and makes their work faster where within a millisecond people can send their message to people of another part of the world. To add with, health facilities have developed in such a way that, death ratio is remarkably low in developed countries, because saving life has now become very easy.

To conclude, I believe that, both of the eras bear its importance. In one hand, people are living in a high tech era, where every single comfort is now in their hand but at the same time, family bonds are loosening gradually. On the other hand, a century ago, people lived a fearless and enjoyable life but without the lights of technological comfort and advent.

Life standard has improved dramatically from the 20th century to the present era due to numerous and marvelous developments in almost all important sectors. Though the positive values that we have lost with this advancement cannot be overlooked, there is no denying to the fact that these changes are far beneficial to mankind. This essay supports the view point that life in these days is better than it was a century back.

Undeniably, life today is simpler and easier. We have fewer diseases, more food production capacity, better diplomatic relationship among nations and more freedom than the last century. Computers and internet has interconnected the world and information is only a mouse click away. With technological advancement people can keep in touch with their dear ones within the fraction of a second even if they are in another continent. Air route has become cheaper than the past and affordable to the poor also. Moreover life expectancy has reached to the highest level and infant and maternal mortality rate has declined significantly. Furthermore, new medicines and medical equipment have been invented and many of the epidemic and cure-less diseases of the past have been eradicated.

In contrast, with the technological advancement, our life style has entirely changed. The physical inactivity and processed meals pave the way to many of the unheard diseases. Cancer and other genetic or life style diseases are the good illustration for this. Development of advanced transportation has damaged the entire ecosystem and has led to serious complications like global warming. Dependency on mobile phones and computers has destroyed the traditional culture. We have lost our family tie and important morals.

Put everything into consideration, science and technology have tremendously advanced the human's life though we have lost some of our valuable values that we had in the past.
