Many people feel that giving homework daily to school children works well for them, while others feel that it is an unnecessary burden on them.
Discuss both views and give your opinion.

The concept of assigning homework to school children is a topic of divided opinions. While some argue its efficacy, others perceive it as an undue burden. This essay will explore both perspectives. However, I am of the opinion that giving homework daily to schoolchildren works well for them as it reinforces learning and teaches responsibility.
Detractors of daily homework argue that it imposes an unnecessary load on students. They contend that the pressure to complete assignments after school hours encroaches on leisure time, affecting their well-being. For instance, studies indicate a rise in stress levels and mental health issues among students owing to the excessive workload from homework.
On the other hand, proponents of daily homework emphasize its positive impacts on reinforcing learning. Assignments given at home allow students to apply what they have learned in class, reinforcing concepts and facilitating better understanding. For example, mathematics problems or language exercises assigned as homework can deepen comprehension and skill acquisition.
I think that daily homework serves as a tool for practice and revision, consolidating knowledge gained in the classroom. It instills a sense of discipline and time management in students, preparing them for future responsibilities. Moreover, it provides an avenue for parents to be involved in their child's education, fostering a supportive learning environment.
In conclusion, despite concerns regarding the burden it places on students, daily homework plays a vital role in reinforcing learning and developing essential skills. This essay will attempt to explore both viewpoints. I think that homework has an important role in children's education.
Those who contend that homework has no usefulness for young children and should not be used to teach them form their argument on the basis that regular homework reduces leisure time for children, and keeps them busy completing homework at home. Such practices impose a heavy burden on young learners and they grow an apathy towards learning and school. Besides, many learners simply copy from other children and learn little from the homework that they have been given. This makes homework a less effective tool of education.
On the other hand, people who argue that homework is pivotal for school children consider many important factors it has for the young student's learning. First and foremost, homework cultivates a regular study habit in young schoolgoers. Pupils are often asked to complete tasks at home that they have learned at school. It helps them study further and get help from parents or the internet to understand a topic deeply. Homework also teaches them the essential skill of time management and develops a sense of responsibility from a very tender age. Consequently, it would make them responsible learners and adept citizens in the future.
Personally, I am in favour of giving homework as it builds a regular study habit among children and creates essential skills in them including time management and a sense of responsibility.
To conclude, homework can be a useful tool for young children's learning process. Therefore, teachers should make homework fun and engaging.
