Model Answer 1: [Partial Agreement]
In contemporary times, there is a commonly held belief that modern-day children are undisciplined due to the career-oriented lifestyles of their parents. I partially agree with this perspective, and also believe that the lack of discipline among children is not solely attributable to parental careers. Nonetheless, parents do have an important role to play in instilling discipline in their children, and there are several measures that they can take to build a sense of discipline among their offspring.

One of the primary causes of undisciplined behaviour among children is the rise of technology and its associated distractions. Children today are exposed to an unprecedented amount of screen time, which can adversely affect their focus and concentration. Additionally, the absence of outdoor activities can lead to physical inactivity, further exacerbating the problem. Consequently, parents need to limit their children's screen time, encourage physical activity, and provide alternative sources of entertainment, such as reading books or playing board games.

Another significant factor that contributes to undisciplined behaviour is the lack of structure and routine in a child's daily life. Many parents, due to work or other commitments, may find it challenging to establish a routine that allows for consistency in a child's daily routine. As a solution, a consistent routine can help children feel secure, and safe and provide them with an understanding of what is expected of them. This can include a set time for meals, sleep, study, and playtime. Establishing routines may require some flexibility and adjustment, but the benefits of doing so are worthwhile. Finally, parents can also encourage discipline by setting clear boundaries and rules. This helps children understand what is acceptable and what is not. Parents should communicate their expectations and provide appropriate consequences when rules are broken.

In conclusion, the lack of discipline among children is a complex issue that cannot be attributed solely to the busy careers of their parents. Nonetheless, parents have a crucial role in instilling discipline in their children. By working together, parents and children can overcome these challenges, and ultimately, develop a sense of discipline that can be carried throughout their lives.

Model Answer 2: [Agreement]
It is often said that children in modern times are becoming increasingly unruly due to their parents' busy schedules and demanding careers. With both parents working full-time, children are often left alone for extended periods, and as a result, they do not receive the necessary guidance and discipline they require to develop good character. I completely agree with the view.

One significant cause of disciplinary issues among children is the absence of quality time spent between parents and children. When parents are busy with their careers, they may not have enough time to spend with their children. As a result, children may feel neglected, leading to a lack of emotional support and guidance. This may lead to behavioural problems such as aggression, disobedience, and lack of self-discipline.

A busy lifestyle can also lead to parents resorting to shortcuts to discipline their children, such as using technology or giving in to their children's demands instead of taking the time to teach proper values and behaviours. This can have long-term consequences on children's development, including poor decision-making and a lack of empathy towards others.

To build a sense of discipline among children, parents can take a few measures. Firstly, they can set a regular routine for their children, which will provide structure and stability to their lives. This can include fixed times for meals, play, study, and rest, which can help children learn time management and responsibility. Secondly, parents can spend quality time with their children, engaging in activities that promote discipline and responsibility, such as cooking together, playing board games, or engaging in sports activities. By doing this, parents can provide guidance and teach important values such as honesty, hard work, and respect.

In conclusion, parents' busy schedules can undoubtedly contribute to the lack of discipline in children. However, by taking measures such as setting a routine and spending quality time with their children, parents can help build a sense of discipline in their children and promote their long-term development.

Developing a sense of discipline among children is an important responsibility for parents as it determines a child’s future and overall social situation. However, many parents do not share enough quality time with their children due to career pressure and those couples, oftentimes, fail to teach their children moral values. This has undeniably led to some juvenile delinquencies including disciplinary problems. I firmly believe that parents should spend more time with their offspring and teach them through examples to reverse this situation.

To begin with, when children in a society become disruptive, their parents are to be blamed because moral teaching comes from the family. Parents are the first teachers of their children and perhaps the most reliable ones, and they have to spend time with their children. Ideal parents teach their children good behaviour and teach them right from wrong. They also set examples so that their young children learn from them. Lessons learned from parents shape a child’s character and this is why psychologists emphasize so much on good parenting. But parents, in modern times, are too busy with their careers to perform these basic parental responsibilities which in turn make their children rowdy and undisciplined.

There is no denying that careers and social status are important but not more than the future of a child and the family. This is why parents should maintain a balance in their professional and family life. Moreover, once a child becomes unruly and unmanageable, parents would suffer the most. Due to the relationship between upbringing and the future of a child, fathers and mothers should instil good moral values in a child in the early stage of their life, not regret when it is already too late. They can do that by making a balance between their careers and family, and by spending more time with their children.

To conclude, many parents leave their children on their own only to miss their chance to make them ideal citizens of society. No matter how alluring the career prospects are, good parents should always make time to share with their boys and girls and teach them important lessons about life, including the importance of discipline.
