Model Answer 1:
Thank you very much for this cue card topic. I would like to share my experience when I wanted to purchase a mobile phone so badly but could not afford it. Since my younger sister had been saving money to get a smartphone set, I wanted to get that mobile phone for her. She had been saving money for past few months by reducing her regular expenses. Actually, she wanted to change her old-fashioned one. So, I made a plan to pay for the mobile phone and surprise her with it.
Unluckily, I was unable to pay for the phone set. I lost my purse on the way to the shopping mall I intended to purchase the phone. I lost my purse and do not know how it was lost. I might have kept that back in the taxi I used to reach the shopping mall located in the central part of Hokkaido in Japan. So, I could not get the phone right then.
I informed the matter immediately to my mom through a public phone booth. I also informed the issues to bank authorities as well because I had my credit and debit cards inside the purse. It was a disaster for me.
I felt sad. In fact, it could have been the happiest moment of my life. It was the very first gift for my younger sister after I got my first job with a multinational corporation. I explained everything to my sister and she also felt sad. But she was glad when she came to know my intention. I took some loan from dad and bought the phone to her finally. I did so because she was expecting something from me. But the surrounding situations made us all surprised.
