Dear Sir or Madam,

I have recently enrolled in your college and my class will commence at the beginning of next year. I am writing to request you to arrange my accommodation in the college hostel or suggest me an alternative.

My major is economics and my class will start in January 2019. I will travel from Japan would prefer to stay in the college residence hall. I would like a single room either on the second or third floor with the air-conditioner and laundry facilities. My first preference is to stay at the college hostel.

I am a vegetarian and would like to know if our college canteen is vegetarian-friendly. If this is not included in the dining room, would you please inform me if I can avail vegetarian diets from a nearby restaurant? If so, how far those restaurants are?

If no suitable room is available in the college hall, would you please suggest me a suitable place to stay in the vicinity of the college? I can share the room with another student and would be ready to pay higher, but the air-conditioner, vegetarian-friendly meals and laundry service are indispensable as they are the foremost factors I am considering now.

Looking forward to getting a reply from you.

Yours faithfully,

Model Answer 2:

Dear Sir or Madam,

I have recently been granted admission at your college in the Physics department and I am writing with respect to my accommodation requirements in the college residence hall.

I am a female student from Ireland and would be travelling to the UK for the first time. Hence, I would like to spend my first year in a Hall of Residence so that I can stay close to the campus and socialise with other students. I would prefer the hall to be a single-sex, female-only residence and with the full board so that I won't have to worry about cooking for myself. In addition, I require a vegetarian choice as I am a vegetarian.

If a college residence with the amenities mentioned is not available, I would be satisfied in a hall with kitchens so I can cook. Additionally, I would not like to share my room and I would prefer en-suite facilities if you have halls offering this.

Thanking you for your assistance in advance. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours faithfully,

Anna Katerina

Sample Answer 3:

Dear Sir or Madam,

I have been accepted in the MBA course for the next academic year in your prestigious college. I am writing to inquire about suitable accommodation in the college Hall of Residence as I want to reserve it before I travel to the UK to join my classes.

I am looking for a single room with attached bathroom and laundry facility. The room should be fully furnished and have good ventilation and ample natural light. Since I am a vegetarian, I would like to cook my own food, so accommodation with a fully equipped kitchen would be mandatory.

If the above arrangement is not available in the Hall of Residence then I would not mind living with a local family who lived near the college. I would like to avoid daily long commuting to attend my classes and prefer a couple without children.

Please notify me if you would like to have any additional information from my end. Waiting to hear from you soon regarding the availability of the accommodation and further process to reserve it.

Yours faithfully,

Preeti Ghuraiya

Sample Answer 4:

Dear Sir or Madam,

I have recently been granted admission in your college and would be joining my classes in the next academic year. In this juncture, I would like to put forward my accommodation requirements during my period of study in your college as I am willing to stay at the college Hall or Residence.

I would prefer to stay in the college hostel to avoid the daily commute. I can accommodate myself in a room on sharing basis as it would be more budget-friendly. I would be pleased to have a roommate from the Asian continent, if possible. Regarding the food, I request you to let me know the available cuisines. As an Indian, I would prefer to have a rice dish daily.

If such accommodation is not available in the college hostel, I am ready to opt-in for available accommodation near the college. I can stay with a small family who would be ready to host me and provide me with meals.

Thank you in advance. I will be waiting for your reply in this regard.

Yours faithfully,

Sample Answer 5:

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing this letter to inform you that I have recently got admitted to your college and my class will begin on next January. And for that, I want to reserve my accommodation in your college Hall of Residence before I reach the United Kingdom to join my class.

For my accommodation, I would like to have a single room with an attached bathroom and kitchen. The laundry service should be available as I do not want to do my own laundry. If such accommodation is not possible then I could go for a shared accommodation but the room should be large enough.

Coming to the food, I would prefer a vegetarian menu as I am a vegetarian. If it is not provided by the college canteen then I would like to get an access to the kitchen to cook my own food.

The above-stated requirements are my priority but if they do not match with your offered facilities, I would prefer to know your available options in advance so that I can make up my mind. If a seat in the college resident is not possible, I can stay with a couple near the college who would respect my privacy.

Thank you in advance. I hope to hear from you soon.

Yours faithfully,

Letter Topic: You are going to study in a college in the UK next year. You would like to stay in the college Hall of Residence.

Answer:
Dear Sir / Madam,

I am writing this letter to inform you that I have decided to stay in the residence provided by the college during my course.

I would be grateful if you could provide me with a single room with attached washroom and large windows on the ground or first floor. I would like to stay alone in the room because from my school days I did not share my room with other students. I would require some essential items in my room like a bed, cupboard, table, and chair. Also, if I get the study lamp that will be great. As I am a vegetarian and college hall canteens provide vegetarian food items. So, it will be easy for me to have food in the college mess.

If the above arrangement is not available in the college hostel, then I would like to stay as a paying guest with a small family in the UK, and it should be near to the University so that I can easily commute to and from the college.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Kind Regards,
Suraj Nathoo

Dear Sir,
I am a student of Dhaka University, Bangladesh. Last month I was being selected to get enroll myself in the course-" Technique to Data Collection" at your university. I am writing this letter about my accommodation and some other factors there.

As a commoner, I prefer to stay at Hall of Residence to avoid any inconvenience related to my accommodation there. I wish to stay with the group of students, as I can get some basic information there. Personally, I have to bear all of my expenses. So it is a matter of my tension. If possible, you can arrange food facility with accommodation. So far I know, food at a restaurant is very costly. Some of my friends there suggest me to stay with a family. They argue that it will reasonably cheap and also enhance my speaking capability to speak English. It is up to you, which option I should prefer. As you know the course is critical, I request you, if possible, arrange my accommodation with the same group of students. Then I will get some basic guidelines. Finally, I request you to provide a city guided map and any publication describing the lifestyles of the inhabitants there. Please let me know the cost mentioning the type of accommodation.

I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely yours,
Zahid
