To the editor of the daily Dawn,
I am writing to express my concerns regarding the proposed changes in the bus timetable by the local government. Allow me to elaborate.
The local government is planning to reduce the frequency of the bus on route 25. The current frequency of the bus is every 15 minutes, however, the local administration plans to cut down the frequency to a bus to one in an hour. Moreover, the first bus will depart at 7 am rather than 6 am.
As you can understand, such drastic changes to the timetable will adversely affect the commuters. Currently, I have to report to work at 7 am, therefore, I board the bus that arrives at 6 am. If the current timetable were to change, I will face great difficulties in getting to work on time.
In my opinion, the bus frequency needs to be increased rather than decreased, so that the travellers that have to leave for work before the sunrise can be accommodated in a better way. Further, I would suggest that the transport authority should also consider replacing the older buses to improve the overall travel experience.
I hope you'll publish my concerns in your newspaper.
