The IELTS Speaking Part 1 test focuses mainly on everyday topics and personal experiences, allowing the examiner to assess a candidate’s fluency, pronunciation, and ability to communicate naturally. You can expect to be asked a few simple questions related to you and things that you know, do, like, or dislike. This section usually lasts about 4–5 minutes and includes simple questions about your home, hobbies, work, studies, and interests.

In this section, you will find a wide range of sample questions with model answers that demonstrate how to respond confidently and naturally to get a good band score. Those samples are designed to help you understand the question pattern, develop ideas quickly, and use appropriate vocabulary and grammar. Practising these questions will help you sound more fluent and spontaneous in your actual IELTS Speaking Part 1 test.
