IELTS Writing Task 2 (also known as IELTS Essay Writing) is the second task in your IELTS Writing test. In this part of the test, you will be asked to write an IELTS Essay based on the question provided. You need to write at least 250 words and justify your opinion/argument with examples and experience.

You will have approximately 40 minutes to finish your Essay Writing. IELTS Writing Task 2 carries more weight (double) than Writing Task 1. Your Essay topics could be an “opinion essay”, “discussion essay”, “problem-solution essay”, “advantages-disadvantages essay”, or a “double-question essay”. This section has “Questions and Model Answers” from all five types. It helps you prepare to write any type of essay you might encounter in your IELTS exam.
