The bar chart compares the amount of money that people in Germany, Italy, France and Britain spent on six different consumer products. These items include personal stereos, tennis racquets, perfumes, CDs, toys and photographic film.
Overall, British people consistently spent the most across nearly all categories, while Germans tended to record the lowest spending on those items. Moreover, most money went on purchasing Photographic film, toys, and CDs.
In detail, Britain clearly led the rankings for money spent on six personal goods. Brits spent roughly 170 thousand pounds sterling on photographic film, which was the highest single figure on the chart. They spent slightly less on toys and CDs. Even in the lower-spending categories, such as personal stereos and tennis racquets, British consumers still spent close to 155 thousand, exceeding the other three countries.
France followed in most categories. The French spent just over 160 thousand on photographic film, 2 thousand less on CDs, and 145 thousand on perfumes. They spent the least on tennis racquets. Moreover, Italians generally spent more money on toys (approximately 158 thousand), and their purchases of photographic film, perfumes and CDs were around 155 thousand. Finally, Germans showed the lowest levels of spending overall. They spent roughly 145 thousand on photographic film and CDs. For the remaining goods, this country’s expenditure mostly stayed between 145 and 150 thousand, making it the least spending nation in nearly every category.
