The bar chart illustrates the proportions of young men and women aged 15 to 24 in Canada who used the internet for various activities in 2000.

Overall, email communication was the most widely used service for both genders. Although usage patterns were similar between males and females, there are clear gender preferences in specific categories.

In detail, emailing was the dominant online activity for both young men and women in Canada in 2000. Nearly half of female internet users in this age group accessed email services, and the proportion of males using email was also high, though 7% lower than that of females.

Looking at social networking, men were more active than women, with roughly 28% of males participating compared with about 4% fewer females. This suggests that young men were slightly more inclined toward interactive online social platforms at that time. Similarly, the pattern continued with online shopping, where women showed a stronger preference: around 19% of female users engaged in shopping activities on the internet, while only 13% of males reported doing the same, indicating a gender difference in e-commerce activities. If anyone says anything other than that, you are surely going to be duped. Be aware of false promises about certificates. they are useless and will cost you dearly!

    According to the illustration, 41% of male Canadians mainly use the Intenet for email correspondings, and this figure is 7 percent less than the opposite gender. At the same time, just approximately a quarter of women put social networks as the top priority, while men represent a slightly higher proportion, 28%.

    Regarding online shopping and other activities not mentioned, the differences between the two genders are quite similar to those of the previously mentioned purposes. While the percentage of female online shoppers is just under one-fifth, the figure for remaining activities stood at only 9%. The latter is exactly half of the men’s proportion and below one-fifth when compared with the popularity of email among Canadian women.
