The chart below shows the results of a survey about people’s coffee and tea buying and drinking habits in five Australian cities.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The bar chart represents the proportions of residents in five Australian cities who bought fresh or instant coffee, or visited a café for coffee or tea during the previous four weeks.
Overall, most Australians in those cities, except Adelaide, went to a café to enjoy tea or coffee, while buying fresh coffee was the least common choice in most locations.
In detail, almost 64% citizens in Melbourne went to a café to enjoy tea or coffee. Hobart followed very closely, while this ratio in Sydney and Brisbane showed slightly lower but still strong participation, at roughly 60% and 55%, respectively. Adelaide was the only city where café visits did not dominate, standing at just under 50%.
When it comes to instant coffee, the highest proportions of people (54%) buying it were recorded in Hobart, closely followed by Brisbane, where just over half of the population purchased this type of drink. Adelaide also had a relatively high rate of this trend, around 50%. In contrast, the proportion of people in Sydney and Melbourne who bought it stood at moderate levels, both at about 45%. Purchases of fresh coffee were noticeably lower across all five cities. Sydney and Melbourne led this category, with around 44% and 42% respectively. Hobart followed at approximately 38%, while Brisbane and Adelaide had the lowest figures, each sitting in the mid-30% range.
