The illustration below shows the proportions of people living in different types of houses in three different areas in 2012 in Denmark.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

You should write at least 150 words.

Model Answer 1:
The table summarises the proportions of residents living in four housing types in three areas of Denmark in 2012: Green Park, Central Park and the Central area.

Overall, the three locations show very different housing profiles. Green Park residents relied heavily on terraced housing, Central Park’s housing was dominated by bungalows, and the Central area presents the most balanced distribution of housing.

In Green Park, terraced houses account for the clear majority of accommodation for its residents, with 75% of the population living in this type of house. 15% residents lived in detached houses, while the remining 10% lived in semi-detached properties and bungalows.

The housing style in Central Park, by contrast, shows almost the reverse trend. Here, bungalows represent 65% residents, making them by far the most common form of housing. Terraced houses accommodated another 25%, while the rest 10% lived in semi-detached and detached houses.

The Central area sat between these two extremes and showed a balance of housing preferences by its residents. 45% people there dwelled in Terrace houses, and bungalows were also home to a substantial proportion of people – 35%. Semi-detached housing accounts for 15%, and detached houses remain the least preferred housing type, at just 5%.

Overall, Green Park inhabitants preferred terrace houses, while the majority of the citizens in the Central area lived in terrace houses and bungalows, and the main housing type in the Central Park area was Bungalows.

According to the table data, the largest proportion, two-thirds of the total residents in the Green Park area in Denmark, lived in terrace houses in 2012. 15% lived in detached houses, while the remaining 10% were equally distributed in semi-terrace houses and Bungalows. In contrast, terrance houses and Bungalows were the two most common housing types in the Central area, with 45% and 35% dwellers respectively living in these types of accommodations. 15% residents in this area resided in semi-detached houses, and the remaining lived in detached houses in 2012. Finally, Bungalows were the primary accommodation type in the Central Park area with 65% dwellers. One-quarter of residents preferred terrace houses, and the remaining one-tenth of people lived in either a semi-detached or a detached house.
