Describe a person in the news whom you would like to meet.
You should say:
- who this person is
- why he/she is in the news
- what you want to say to this person
and explain why you would like to meet this person.

I’m not a big fan of anyone in the news at the moment, but I guess it would be interesting to meet Justin Trudeau, the former prime minister of Canada. He’s often in the news, and I think I would be highly curious to talk to him and learn more about him.
Now, I don’t know that much about him, or even agree with some of the things that he says or does, but he certainly seems to be popular with a section of the population – both in Canada and the rest of the world. But, as a former prime minister of one of the largest countries in the world, many of his policies were popular (and still are) as they aimed to solve many pressing problems. He is in the news because he is still a powerful figure whose opinions are sought after.
Anyway, after meeting this great political personality, I would ask him just one question: why on earth did he want to take on such a difficult role and become the prime minister of Canada when he had all the means and resources at his disposal to enjoy the rest of his life as an actor or teacher!
Many might argue here that a lot of other world leaders also tried to do their best to solve problems, and therefore, there probably isn’t anything much about him that makes him such a sought-after personality in the world news these days. Well, such an argument could be true to some extent, but none of those other leaders has been a teacher, an actor, a nightclub bouncer, a snowboarder, a white water rafting instructor, and even a boxer before becoming a prime minister or a president, have they? And precisely because of these reasons, which make him such a prolific personality, I want to meet him. I also want to meet him because he believes in true diversity, not to mention what he did to deal with the dangerous climate situation that the world is facing today.

Life is busy, so making time to watch TV is not something I manage to do that often. However, some nights, after coming back from my work, I do find some time for myself to watch one of my favourite TV programmes. It is an interview programme that brings successful people from all walks of life. The last time I watched it, it featured a highly successful business magnet in my country, and I really want to meet him in person and spend some time with him.
By the way, for his immense success as a business person, Mr Anil is often in the news. People love to hear from him about his success and struggles to achieve them, and that is perhaps the reason news programmes often feature him.
This successful business magnet, who showed up on the TV that night, is a bit different from most others because he seemed a bit too young to me to be such a successful businessman. But, as the interview kept rolling, a lot of information about him started to come into the light. Of course, I already knew some of them about that person by reading some business magazines and newspapers, but the interview was an eye-opener for me since it proved how a person of such a humble background could reach the pinnacle of financial success within such a short period of time.
In fact, Mr Anil had almost nothing when he started his fruit-selling business at a street corner about 12 years ago, when he was only about 17 years old. Today, with more than 500 acres of different kinds of fruit gardens and one of the largest juice manufacturing companies in his name, the 34-year-old business wizard has proved himself to be one of the most promising young business persons in the country. So, how exactly did he manage to become such a successful entrepreneur at such a young age? Well, the answer, according to him, is that he always dreamt big, even if his family was one of the poorest in the town.
Needless to say, I have always wanted to meet him for as long as I have known him from TV and newspapers, and wanted to spend some time with him right after finishing watching his interview. I wanted to meet him, not because of his enviable financial success, but because of his positive attitude. I’d like to meet him also because I want to ask him about how a person of such a humble background, with no financial backing and formal education, could dream so big at such an early age and finally prove it to achieve them.
