Questions 1-7:
Look at the three restaurant advertisements below. Answer the questions below by writing the letters of the appropriate restaurants (A-C) in boxes 1-7 on your answer sheet.

Payment may be by personal cheque, bank cheque or cash.
Note: Payments cannot be made by phone.

It’s an easy passage. Is the general reading always like that or was this just a practice test?
As you said, credit option is not accepted, but the sentences match with the question which mode of payment? – the passage says personal cheque, bank check or cash. Again the question says credit card, but the answer to the same question says personal cheque, bank check or cash it contradicts the questions but the information given. So it’s false.
Because the question mention weekdays which means working days from Monday to Friday and the restaurant is open from Tuesday to Friday. So the answer is “B”.
Tuesday to Sunday is also weekdays, right? Any working day is a weekday.
Why the answer is B for questions number 3?

How can you guys get 13/13? For the question no. 3, they are closed on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. So, how come it is open on weekdays? Isn’t Monday a weekday too?

It should be “Not Given” because nothing is mentioned about the reduction of the payment.

Hi, Restaurant A works Tuesday to Sunday (Sunday 🙂 )But restaurant B works on Tuesday to Friday. So there is no only weekday working there!

Yes, that’s true. There is no information given on relating Saturday and Sunday. So it should be ‘NG’.

Hello IELTS Mentor, these samples looks really easy to me, it hardly takes me few seconds to find the answers here, but in the real test will it be the same kind of situation or is it the other way round? (Not open on Nonday to Friday). That’s why the answer is false. Whenever you ask a question, first, question yourself. Suppose if they ask questions like this – The Coastside Power Office is open on March? The answer is NA.
Because it gives information about all the opening hours which means on any other hours and days it is closed. Only if it says Saturday it is open but doesn’t describe the timing, so it should be ‘not given’.
Because Lunch timing and days are Tuesday to Friday, not on Saturday and Sunday. While other two options consist of Saturday and Sunday too.

Why is the answer to question 11 ‘False’? It seems to me ‘NG’. There is no clue in the reading passage about Sunday morning’s openings.

Those samples were taken from actual IELTS tests.
At the bottom, it clearly mentions that payments cannot be made by phone.

Hi Wilson, Using the US spelling is perfectly okay in IELTS test.
Hi, IELTS Mentor,I know this is out of the topic but still, please kindly enlighten me. I noticed that “instalment” was spelt with only a single “L”. When I googled it, it showed that this is used mainly in British spelling. In the US context, it is spelt with a double “L”.Now my question is, since I’m more of a US English user, will IELTS credit the spelling with the double “L”? The same goes for the spelling of “enrolment”, “fulfilment”, etc.Thanks a lot!
In question 12, it says payment can not be done over the phone by using your credit card so ‘credit card’ is the word which is not mentioned at all. So why it’s false and not ‘NG’? Kindly let me know about it. I am really thankful to you guys. I wish I could get same easy passages in real exams. AMEEN.
I made this 100%, but the others are more difficult.
Notice it’s written as ‘weekdays’, not ‘weekends’! I didn’t see it too. I automatically read weekends. Very confusing!

‘B’ is the correct answer, Lunch: Tuesday-Friday which means working days, Saturday & Sunday are excluded, Monday is not shown to distract you!
Hi, for question 3, it is only open for lunch on weekdays. The given answer is ‘B’ and this puzzled me. It should be ‘C’, I guess.
