General Training Reading Sample: Your Moulex Iron & Classic Tours
First, read the text below and answer Questions 1-8.
Your Moulex Iron
A Filling the reservoir
Your iron is designed to function using tap water. However, it will last longer if you use distilled water.
— Always unplug the iron before filling the reservoir.
— Always empty the reservoir after use.
B Temperature and steam control
Your Moulex iron has two buttons which control the intensity of heat produced by the iron. You can, therefore, adjust the temperature of the iron and the amount of steam being given off depending upon the type of fabric being ironed.
— Turn the steam control to the desired intensity.
— Turn the thermostat control to the desired temperature.
Important: If your iron produces droplets of water instead of giving off steam, your temperature control is set too low.
C Spray button
This button activates a jet of cold water which allows you to iron out any unintentional creases. Press the button for one second.
D Pressing button
This button activates a super shot of steam which momentarily gives you an additional 40g of steam when needed.
Important: Do not use this more than five successive times.
E Suits etc.
It is possible to use this iron in a vertical position so that you can remove creases from clothes on coathangers or from curtains. Turning the thermostat control and the steam button to maximum, hold the iron in a vertical position close to the fabric but without touching it. Hold down the pressing button for a maximum of one second. The steam produced is not always visible but is still able to remove creases.
Important: Hold the iron at a sufficient distance from silk and wool to avoid all risks of scorching. Do not attempt to remove creases from an item of clothing that is being worn, always use a coathanger.
F Auto-clean
In order that your iron does not become furred up, Moulex has integrated an auto-clean system and we advise you to use it very regularly (1-2 times per month).
— Turn the steam control to the off position.
— Fill the reservoir and turn the thermostat control to maximum.
— As soon as the indicator light goes out, unplug the iron and, holding it over the sink, turn the steam control to auto-clean. Any calcium deposits will be washed out by the steam. Continue the procedure until the reservoir is empty.

Hello All, I have 8+ years of experience working in Information Technology. Presently I am working for IBM India and during my whole career, I have worked with clients from America. Now I want to migrate to Austalia/NewZealand. So I have below queries:
1) Do I need to appear for the IELTS exam?
2) Is it possible to get the work Visa without having a job in that country?
3) If the answer to question 2 is “yes”, then what is the process for it.
I believe there are three reading passages in an original IELTS Reading test. The admin of this website has listed the original reading passage numbers from the source. However, the reading passages’ serial numbers were not maintained and that is why the second reading passage starts here from the question 10. I guess you should complete three passages in an hour. Giving three passages here would make it harder for the visitors to read and match answers. I think this is why the moderator has picked a single reading passage at a time.
Admin, why we have questions starting from 9? Where can I find questions after 14 and before 9? Is there any possibility that I can download the questions and print? For that, it should be all on a single page. Please suggest.
Easy.
Private facilities.
The article mentions single room with the private facility. Private facility refers bathroom.
Hi, the 12th question, how come the answer is ‘A’. It is relevant when there’s no mention of the bathroom in the context.
From my understanding’Request comes from an individual, demand comes from a group (based on strength of people)
I want to help in speaking practice.
In the case of ‘C’ – “Upon request” can also apply to if you (one person), personally requests for the entertainment. (I think)VS the case B, states straightforward about the demand. I can see your point why you would think like that, but the option ‘C’ is based on an assumption that a lot of people are requesting for it, hence demanding for it.
C – request would mean, you would just ask for it and if available they will provide it to you. However, the passage says, it depends on how many people request for the entertainment. So, B – demand is the correct answer.
Please check the official website of Immigration and Citizenship in Canada (www.cic.gc.ca/english/) and go through the different categories. Then decide which category matches you the best. Usually, people, these days, go for the express entry. Best of luck.
Differences between Academic and GT IELTS – Reading and Writing:
1. Reading passages in Academic IELTS are larger and more difficult. The passages are mainly related to the study materials found on different academic books in the university or college level. On the contrary, GT reading passages are easier than that of Academic reading passages and section 2 has one or two texts relates to work or training topics. Section three has one long passage, much like the academic module.
2. In Academic Writing Task 1, a test taker needs to write a report/summary of a graph/ chart/ pictorial or flow chart. In GT Writing Task 1, the candidate is required to write a letter. 3. Writing Task 2 (Essay writing) is almost the same both in Academic and GT modules.
Try getting a work visa straight way if you had worked in the international company before.
Sir, I have completed my MCA. I have 6 years’ experience in a government job and I want to go to Canada with my husband and daughters. My husband’s qualification is MSC in IT. What should we do?
If you are taking IELTS for immigration process, then you need to take GT exam and if you want to go abroad for higher studies then the Academic IELTS exam is required.
Question 13# what is the difference between ‘B’ and ‘C’? I think both are correct. ‘B’ if there is the demand & ‘C’ upon request.
