The diagram below shows the floor plan of a public library 20 years ago and how it looks now.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The two floor plans compare how a public library’s layout was renovated over a gap of twenty years.
Overall, the library has been considerably redesigned and modernised, with older sections removed and replaced by more dynamic, user-friendly spaces and services.
Twenty years ago, the library was dominated by conventional services. On the right of the entrance area, there was an enquiry desk, and a reading room stacked with newspapers and magazines on the left. Upon entering, visitors encountered two large round tables surrounded by several chairs. To the left of this area, the librarians shelved adult fiction books, while the right-hand side consisted of non-fiction books. The rear portion of the library was divided into a children’s book room on the right, and a computer room with CDs, videos and games on the left.
Twenty years later, this arrangement has been comprehensively redesigned and modernised. The entrance area and the corridor ahead have been cleared out. The former enquiry area on the right of the entrance has been replaced with a café, and it has been moved farther, where adult non-fiction books were shelved. However, the surrounding spaces have been reconfigured with the addition of self-service machines. The former computer room now houses children’s books, sofas, and space for events, while the reading room now has computers for visitors to use. Finally, adult fiction bookshelves now arrange all reference books.
