Dear Sir or Madam,
Sample Answer 1:
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to apologise as I will not be able to present myself for the interview which is scheduled for the second week of November. My project manager will be out of the country during this time and I will have to manage the team during his absence. I am hoping that you would be kind enough to reschedule the interview for sometime in December.
I am eagerly waiting to meet you in a formal interview and discuss my potential for the post of Executive Manager. However, my project manager called me yesterday to notify me that he will be in Canada from 15th to 25th November. He asked me to look after the project during his absence. Therefore I will be incapable to attend the interview as planned.
I would request you to postpone the interview date to a later date - preferably in December. This would allow me enough time to complete my tasks and be available for the interview. I aspire to work in your esteemed organisation and hoping to get a chance.
I look forward to getting a favourable reply from you soon. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Yours faithfully,
Jessica Jeremy

Model Answer 2:
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to request you to reschedule my interview on a later date. I will travel to Australia during the first week of September to attend some emergency office work which unfortunately contradicts my earlier schedule to meet you in a formal interview for the position of assistant manager in your company. I sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused due to this and I am hoping to meet you anytime after 8th September.
I am supposed to meet you to further discuss my candidacy for the position of assistant manager in your reputed organisation on 5th September and I am really looking forward to that meeting. However, I was assigned to a new project recently and my current employer expects me to visit our Australian office during the first week of September. It will be a training programme from 4th till 7th September and I will be in Australia during this time. Considering the situation, I am hoping that you would agree to meet me at your convenient time, preferably after the 8th of September. I will be ready to meet you on 9th September if the schedule suits you.
My sincere apologies for the request to reschedule the interview but I can assure you that I really am looking forward to meeting you in a formal interview as planned. I consider your company as one of the best places to work in and I hope that I would be able to prove my worth once hired.
Thank you in advance.
Yours faithfully,
David Henderson
