Model Answer 1:

Dear Sir/ Madam,

I was one of the passengers who took the flight from Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) to Melbourne (Australia) on 16 March. Unfortunately, my suitcase did not come out after the flight. Although I have explained this to Mr Johnson who was in charge at the luggage Claim office and promised to give me a call within next 24 hours, this did not happen.

My suitcase is a dark brown leather with a black handle. Inside the suitcase, you will find some clothes, souvenirs for friends I will visit. There are few books and two copies of a business proposal which I need for the presentation on 30 March.

I would appreciate it if you could contact me as soon as possible. If you could send this suitcase to me by courier service, I would be more grateful. I have arranged to pay for the service. My flight number, luggage claim number and address are written below.

Flight Number: MH 168
Luggage Claim Number: 00269
Address: 20 Golden Road, Seremban, Malaysia.

Yours Faithfully,
R.

Model Answer 2:

Dear Sir/Madam,

I was one of the passengers who took the flight from Narita (Tokyo) to Heathrow (London) on 5 August. Unfortunately, my suitcase did not come out after the flight. Although I have explained this Mr McDonald who was in charge at the Luggage Claim Office I have not heard from him as of now.

My suitcase is Grey Samsonite whose size is 10 x 95 cm. There are 3 stickers on one side and a heart-shaped sticker on the other side. My initials "AR" are also written on both sides.

There are a few books and a copy of my thesis in that suitcase, which I need for the conference on 19 August.

So I would deeply appreciate it if you could give me a prompt reply at your most convenient. My flight number, luggage claim number and address are written below.

Flight No: NH 101
Luggage Claim No: 00026
London. NWI6 5AL

Yours Faithfully.

Model Answer 3:

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am a frequent flyer of Continental Airlines. I am writing you to inquire about a bag I lost during my last trip to New York on 15-January on flight number AB220.

While off-boarding the flight in New York I forgot to collect the bag from an overhead bin. I realised about the lost bag after coming out of the airport. So, I raised a request with your staff to recover the bag. After all the formalities, your staff said someone would contact me within 24 hours. But now it is already 5 days since the incident occurred and yet there is no update.

I need your urgent attention to this matter. For your information it a grey colour leather suitcase. There is a logo on the front side of the bag resembling a swan. The bag also has my name tag on it. It is a light bag containing few papers.

I request you to provide me with actions you are going to take on this matter.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours sincerely,
Ramanuj

Model Answer 4:

Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to know about my stolen suitcase. My name is Ali, and I was the passenger of the Saudia Airline Company. Last week, after my holiday was finished in Singapore, I travelled by plane, which was the Saudia Airline, in order to return my home country in London city. Unfortunately, when I reached the London Airport, my suitcase was lost.

The suitcase was made of leather, and it was black in colour. Moreover, there was a scratch, which was on the left side, in the suitcase. Some important documents, a fountain pen, a diary, and some clothes were in the suitcase. Especially the documents are essential for me because it is significant in terms of my business purpose.

Although this event happened seven days ago, I have not got any response from your company. I am really dissatisfied with your service. Please update me about the stolen suitcase. Furthermore, I want to know what steps you have taken after the suitcase was lost.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours faithfully,

Ali.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing this letter to inquire about a lost suitcase which I left during my flight from Venice to London last week. I lost my suitcase on 13th March and I am sure I forgot it on the plane.

The flight I took was N-1245 and the plane left the Venice Airport at 22.30. The item is very important to me because it is a gift from my late grandfather. It is a dark brown suitcase with double-locks and it contains some souvenirs and my laptop that I use at work. The files the laptop stores are extremely important to me. The suitcase is from Samsonite brand.

I am sure you are cordially working to return my lost suitcase. I believe I left it under the passenger seat E-3, where I was on the plane. Once you find it, I prefer you ship the suitcase to my address. I will bear the courier charge. I herein enclose my residence address.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,

Lorenzo

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to inquire about my lost suitcase which was reported missing last week, 2nd January to be exact, during my flight from Toronto to New York by the Emirates on flight number AB45T.

My flight departed at 8.15 am and I came to the New York Airport at around 6.30 am. When I reached the boarding area at Toronto airport, I had delivered two medium size bags and one suitcase and the person-in-charge gave me three tokens - each for every baggage.

When the flight reached the destination, I searched for my suitcase and bags in the luggage area. I was shocked to discover that my suitcase was missing though my bags were all there! I immediately notified the airplane authority and lodged a lost baggage file and the authority assured me that I will get my suitcase as soon as it is found.

The suitcase is blue in colour and weight nearly 6 kilograms. It has my name inscribed and should weight around 11 kg with its belongings. I have some very important documents, presents for my wife and approximately $700 cash in it.

Frustratingly, I have not received any status update of my lost suitcase. I will be grateful to you if you double check in the bag’s location and update me about the suitcase.

I am looking forward to receiving your reply promptly.

Yours faithfully,
Mohamed Mosad.

Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter to express my dissatisfaction with the services I received from Air Asia. It makes me galling, as I am yet to get an update about my lost suitcase during my trip to Cochin from Delhi last week.

I checked-in my suitcase at the counter number 25. It was red in colour, medium sized and had a tag of "VIP" on the top. It weighed 25 kg. After waiting for a long time at the baggage counter I enquired with the concerned authorities. The airport staff expressed sympathy over the issue and were checking with the luggage-handling department. As the luggage had my winter clothes only, it gave me a huge relief. But to my dismay, The authorities couldn't trace the luggage in the next couple of hours and I had to leave the airport with a huge exasperation.

Over the week, there was no update from the airline, except an assurance that the luggage is being traced. I would like to know the next course of actions to trace the item.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours faithfully,
Saiju S George.

Answer:
Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to you because I have not heard from you after my suitcase got accidentally lost in one of your flights last week.

The flight flew to Dublin from Rome last Thursday 21st June and the flight number reported on my boarding pass is E1-F10.

Getting back to the lost suitcase, the suitcase is quite big, approximately 21 Kg. It is black in colour with a red handle. The suitcase mostly contains my clothes, but more importantly, it had a bottle of Italian wine. I also put my laptop and a Samsung mobile charger in it. The laptop contains many important official data and it would be a disaster if I cannot get it back.

Therefore, if your staff finds the suitcase it must be treated with the maximum privacy as per your policy. I would be grateful if you could keep me updated weekly regarding the whereabouts of the lost suitcase.

Thank you for your attention and cooperation.

Yours faithfully,

Xyz.

Mr Alex,
The manager of ‘xyz’ Airline Company

I am Nima Mirabedini, one of your passengers, with national id 21cvzx in flight number2234 from Shiraz to Tehran. 2 days ago I flew in this flight and writing this letter to inform you that my suitcase was lost in that travel.

As usual, I had one suitcase and backpack and I gave my luggage to your staff and he put it near other baggages. Unfortunately when I reached to my destination, my suitcase was missing and as I probed anywhere, I did not find my suitcase back. After 2 days, I have not heard anything from your aviation company against the written complaints I submitted instantly. I filled the proper form for missing personal belongings in the airport and described what happened in detail to an investigating stuff. My suitcase is black with two main big sections, one zip was broken and in left side you can see a rupture with size of a small coin. I have some valuable things and business papers in it such as my sunglasses, tablet PC, ornaments, one brown leader wallet, and more importantly I had a little wooden box that had a diamond ring in it.

I am looking forward to hearing from you and I think this matter deserves your urgent attention. Please contact me by email or at my cell phone which 0123456789.

Your sincerely
Nima.
