IELTS Writing Task 2/ IELTS Essay:

Some people think that job satisfaction is more important than job security while some people think that they cannot always expect job satisfaction, a permanent job is more important.

Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Give reasons and relevant examples for your answer.

You should write at least 250 words.

Sample Answer:
It is observed that different people have a varied opinion about the job. According to some individuals, job satisfaction should be given priority when compared to security, while others believe that it is difficult to feel satisfied always, instead permanent job should be preferred. Both the views will be critiqued before reaching a reasoned conclusion.

It is felt by many that work which gives self-satisfaction should be opted rather than fixed job. The primary reason for this belief can be the health benefits offered by the content mind. Working at a place which gives you pleasure not only helps to grow in the professional field but also helps to keep yourself healthy. Thus, it is obvious that successful professional life can also result in the perfect personal life, thereby helping you to keep your family members happy.

While there are some people who consider life-long employment is necessary even if not fulfilled by the type of work. The main cause of believing this can be the assurance of receiving a constant salary. Usually, people need regular income for fulfilling their daily needs and a permanent job means a regular flow of money. Hence, it is apparent that human being will be able to satisfy his family needs, and can, therefore, live a happy satisfied life.

After analysing these two points, it is believed that even though job satisfaction should be considered while accepting jobs, security is very much important for leading comfortable and stress-free life. Without a doubt, people will have a flourishing life if they do not have any tension of future.

Most people aim for the high job satisfaction while others contend that job security is more important. In my viewpoint, it is inevitable that we need a basic income to survive but we will become more depressed and less motivated to work without the job satisfaction. Nowadays employees are getting fewer leisure hours for themselves as they often work extra hours due to massive job responsibilitie s. Sometimes poor staff benefits provided by the companies becomes the reason for the low job satisfaction for workers. These could be due to the inefficiency on workers' performance and high turnover rate in the market. Therefore, job satisfaction places a predominant position in these days. Google Inc. is a good example that offers flexible working hours, staff café with tasty food, children playground for the working parents' kid and others facilities. With such thoughtful working environment, this company highly improves the quality of employees' performance and attracts more veteran professionals to join them.On the contrary, job security is more important to a group of people than the job satisfaction. They believe that a secured job could be the main reason they can plan for their future and enjoy their work life. In their opinion without the job security, a good salary, a better working environment is pointless. For example, the government job, though offers a less salary, are preferred in many countries due to the job security. In conclusion, I believe that both job satisfaction and job security are important for a happy professional life. Without one, another one often becomes meaningless.
