Nowadays more and more young people hold important positions in the government. Some people think that it is a good thing while others argue that it is neither suitable nor desirable.
Discuss both these views and give your opinion.
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Model Answer 1: [Opinion: Young people in important government positions is a good thing.]
In recent times, there has been a noticeable increase in young individuals assuming significant roles within government institutions. While some argue that this development is positive, others hold the belief that it is neither appropriate nor desirable. This essay will discuss both perspectives and provide an opinion in favour of young people in key government positions.
Opponents of young people holding important positions in government argue that experience and wisdom are crucial prerequisites for effective leadership. They contend that young individuals may lack the necessary expertise, knowledge, and understanding of complex issues to make informed decisions. Furthermore, sceptics raise concerns about the potential for manipulation and exploitation of young leaders by more experienced and influential figures within the government. They argue that young individuals may be susceptible to external influences and may lack the political acumen and resilience to navigate complex power dynamics.
On the contrary, supporters of young people holding important positions in government highlight several advantages. Firstly, young individuals often bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to the table. Their exposure to modern challenges and their ability to think outside the box can contribute to more progressive policies and effective decision-making processes. Secondly, the inclusion of young people in government promotes intergenerational fairness and representation. It ensures that the voices and concerns of the younger population, who will bear the consequences of long-term decisions, are adequately considered. This can lead to policies that address the evolving needs of society and provide opportunities for the growth and development of future generations.
In my opinion, the involvement of young people in government is a positive development. While experience is undoubtedly valuable, it should not be the sole determinant of leadership potential. Young individuals bring fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and a deep understanding of contemporary challenges.
To conclude, the increasing presence of young people in important government positions is advantageous. I believe that embracing the contributions of young individuals in government is essential for a more inclusive and progressive society. By combining the energy and vision of youth, governments can effectively address the complex challenges of the modern world.
Sample Answer 2: [Opinion: Young people are not suitable for vital government job positions.]
People have divided opinions when it comes to young people's employment in important government jobs. While some think that it is advantageous, others completely oppose it. The following paragraphs will discuss both viewpoints and argue in favour of the view that young people are not suitable for the majority of the key positions in a government.
On the one hand, some people concur with the idea that young people should lead the country by serving in important decision-making state positions. They opine that young minds are fresh, have innovative ideas and can bring about positive changes. As they understand the latest technology, have better global viewpoints and are free from corruption, they are better suited to serve important government positions. For instance, the technology sector in my country has more young executives than their older counterparts. As a result, those young can make better decisions in terms of technological use and automation of public sectors.
On the contrary, young people often lack the experience and diplomatic perspectives to make important decisions in sensitive areas like foreign affairs, law-making and presenting the budget for the country. This is why another group of people veto their involvement in key positions in a government. They say that experience is a vital factor in serving important state positions and young people are not suitable for such critical positions to run a country.
In my opinion, young people may be suitable for a few positions in a government, for instance, technology, but more experienced leaders should serve a government for the betterment of the country. For instance, the position of the "Chief Justice" or the "President" demands extensive experience and knowledge, and not just innovation and fresh perspectives. Those positions, thus, are not suitable for young minds without experience.
In conclusion, young people in a country should be encouraged to join a few government sectors like technology and science, but most vital administrative jobs, which require comprehensive expertise and diplomatic skills, should be served by experienced leaders.
Generally speaking, there are two main reasons why people believe that young people holding positions in the government is a good thing. First, young people holding positions of power are better physically fit, and this is why they can serve their responsibility better. A good illustration of this is that they are always ready to face challenges. A further point in favour of youths having important government positions is the great vision and spirit to take the nation forward and that they are willing to try new things. If the modern generation gets the opportunity to hold more powerful national positions, changes in bureaucracy and corruption are inevitable.
Despite these arguments, there is also a case for the idea that young people cannot maintain these positions properly due to their lack of experience. Furthermore, many people feel that they are impatient and their new approaches to addressing important issues could bring disasters rather than favourable and useful results. For instance, they cannot take important decisions in most cases because of their lack of proper experience which often comes with age. As a result, they believe that important posts should be in the hands of more experienced people.
In conclusion, important government positions held by youths are a great idea despite their lack of experience. If we do not rely on energetic and innovative youths, we will not have a very bright future.
