Model Answer 1:
There is a significant change in buying trends of people in some developing countries over the last few years. People tend to invest more on modern and new products to avail maximum benefits associated with them. I agree to some extent that economic prosperity, high wages, attractive advertisements and improved quality of products ignite people to buy latest products. However, it has many detrimental effects on the environment that leads to pollution, deforestation and massive quality of rubbish in societies.

There is no denying that people’s living standards have been improved with economic success. Increased in pay and reduced prices of commodities have dramatically risen the buying capacity of people. Additionally, advertisement plays a pivotal role in attracting people’s attention toward new and modern products. For example, commercial consistently ignite people desires to buy products that are trendy, modern and advanced. Furthermore, people have become workaholics and hardly get enough time for repairing products. It is also seen that some time repairing cost is much higher to the actual values of the product that also discourage people to repair old things.

Despite the benefits, it also has dire consequences on the environment, in order to fulfil the demands of contemporary people, companies are exploiting natural resources. Deforestation, de-vegetation and lagging are prevalent in many societies. Moreover, people are producing more rubbish by discarding traditional items and adopting products of presents-days.

To sum up, I would like to say that products of today’s age are more advanced and efficient than conventional, thus these attract large numbers of people because of their undeniable benefits. Governments and individuals should make attempt to create awareness about reusing and recycling of items. Consequently, it will help in cleaning parks and streets from massive litters of wasted disposable cups, plates and bags.

Sample Essay 2:
We are living in a fascinating and an ever-changing world; therefore, one has to accept the changes in order to cope up with them. Some people consider that one can make the place for new things by throwing away the old ones. However, others believe that old is gold and one should repair them and reuse them. Several factors cause this phenomenon as well as their respective consequences.
The concept of throwing away older things has the negative effect on the environment. These things produce more garbage and eventually lead to the disposal problem. The more throwing away old things, more would be the accumulation of garbage. In a long run, this leads to the environmental pollution. Today, pollution has already become a serious threat to the world. Hence, it is suggested to repair the old things and use them instead of disposing of them right away.
On the other hand, what I believe is in three valuable R’S- repair, recycle and reuse. One could effectively reduce the harm caused to the environment by following these three R’s. The practice of reusing older things is a positive phenomenon. The non-biodegradable things such as plastic would go on collecting in the land and lead to the imbalance. Therefore, they should be recycled for the future use.
Nevertheless, one may counter argue that, if one re-uses the older things then what about the new ones, they just loose their market value and this may result in the production loss.
Finally, it is clear that this phenomenon receives the mixed response, it is the moot issue, and one has to take care this issue to avoid the major dreadful consequences.
