Sample Answer 1: (Public smoking should be prohibited, but a complete ban on smoking should be done slowly and with proper planning.)
Banning smoking is a controversial issue as many people strongly support this ban while others disagree with it. It has been around for centuries and in many countries, public smoking is prohibited and against the law while it is open in many other countries. There are discussions and arguments about whether smoking should be banned completely or not.

First of all, smoking is detrimental to health. It causes lung cancer which ultimately leads to death. It might take a long time to show symptoms but it always happens. Secondly, it is a waste of money as smokers spend a lot of money on the cigarette. Addiction to smoking leads to addiction to marijuana, yaba etc. Eventually, the addicted people get involved in different types of crimes. They start collecting money by stealing, lying and robbing and the severity of the crime keeps on increasing. Moreover, smoking not only harm the smoker but also the people around them. Recent studies on smoking suggest that passive smoking is as harmful as active smoking.

On the contrary, the tobacco industry is the source of huge tax for the government. Government makes the best utilization of the tax money by building schools, mosques, overhaul streets etc. Thousands of people work in cigarette-related industries and this creates huge job opportunities. If smoking is banned completely, these people will become unemployed. Another vague benefit of smoking is that smokers believe smoking refreshes their minds and relieves them from tension and stress, though it has not been scientifically proved. Some people think that banning smoking is like imposing restriction on people's freedom and they completely oppose the idea of imposing restrictions on smoking.

Up to this point of view, we see that there are opinions for and against the banning of smoking. I believe, the government should think rationally and wisely before they make any decision about prohibiting smoking. Personally, I believe that public smoking should be prohibited and any violation of this rule should be penalized but a complete ban on smoking should be made slowly and with proper planning.

Sample Answer 2: (Agreement with stating an alternative plan)
A complete ban on smoking is controversial as many people strongly support it while others disagree. In many countries, public smoking is forbidden, but it is still widespread in many other countries. I, however, believe that smoking should be banned, but it should be done slowly and with proper planning and steps.

First of all, smoking is severely detrimental to public health. It causes lung cancer which ultimately leads to death. Secondly, smoking is a complete waste of money, and addiction to smoking sometimes leads to enslavement to other illegal substances. Eventually, many addicted people get involved in different types of crimes to manage the money they need to abuse illegal substances. Finally, smoking not only harms the smoker but also the people around them. Recent studies on smoking suggest that passive smoking is as harmful as active smoking.

Having said that, the tobacco industry is a huge source of tax for the government. The authority makes the best utilization of the tax money by building schools, parks, overhaul streets and other public facilities that serve ordinary people. Millions of people work in cigarette-related industries, and if smoking is banned completely, these people will lose their jobs. Some smokers believe that smoking relieves them from tension and stress, though it has not been scientifically proven. Finally, some people think that banning smoking is like restricting people's freedom.

In conclusion, I believe that the government should take initiatives rationally about prohibiting smoking. Public smoking should be prohibited and any violation of this rule should be penalized, but a complete ban on smoking should be made slowly and with proper planning.

Many people say smoking should be banned and some say it is not a good idea. What is your opinion on this?

Use your own experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant experiences.

Despite the knowledge that smoking is injurious to health, many well-educated supporters around the world do not want to avoid it and they oppose boycotting tobacco products' availability in the market. On the contrary, a good percentage of individuals want to strictly avoid it and they are in the favor of a country-wide ban on smoking. I am personally in favour of holding a strong ban on smoking as apparently, it does not have any advantages.

You do not need to be an expert to justify why smoking should be banned as there are no advantages associated with smoking. Smoking can cause serious health issues and it may lead to death as well. Smoking is the main reason for several types of cancer, for instance, lungs cancer and oral cancers are caused due to excessive smoking. Moreover, smoking has an environmental effect and contributes significantly to air pollution. Many tobacco companies are extensively manufacturing cigarettes and it is creating an environmental issue throughout the world.

Furthermore, the young generation is significantly affected by smoking. Pupils are found smoking at school, colleges and universities at a very young age without realising how dangerous it could be for their life. An increasing rate has been noticed in smoking by youngsters throughout the world and this is an alarming situation that must be dealt with appropriately. Recently, my first cousin at the age of 14 was caught at school, smoking with a group of other students. Upon investigation, it was revealed that he had no awareness regarding the hazardousness of smoking and he was encouraged by a TV smoking advertisement of a tobacco company. This shows how important the nation-wide smoking ban is.

To recapitulate, it is the responsibility of the law and enforcement agencies to spread awareness among the public and arrange seminars and meetings in society to avoid smoking by all means. In addition, every parent has to set an example by avoiding smoking and educate their children about the downside of smoking in the longer term.

These days 'laws & policy' against tobacco products is one of the highly controversial issues. Some people of the society support tobacco use while others oppose the idea. This, naturally, leads us to the question- 'should the tobacco product be banned or freely available to the public without any restriction?' One of the most prominent drawbacks of tobacco is the dangerous diseases it causes. Dried leaves of tobacco plants contain a mixture of aerosol particles and gasses. These active substances are breathed inside the lung and absorbed in the human body's bloodstream by smokers - both active and passive smokers. This deadly health hazard will cause lung cancer, heart attacks, COPD, erectile dysfunction, and birth defects. Evidently, drugs such as cannabis, cigarette and opium have long-term effects on human bodies. On the other hand, the government earns a great deal of money from the tobacco business. High taxes on tobacco products are paid by corporations who manufacture these round cylinders. Thre majority of this income is often spent in building schools, library, hospital, public transport etc. Furthermore, the government spends these taxes to fight against using drugs itself. Those who protest the banning of tobacco often argue that prohibiting of smoking is like taking away freedom from people. In conclusion, although tobacco is a deadly health hazard, charging high taxes and using them for fighting against other dangerous diseases and drugs could be an effective step. Therefore, I believe taxing tobacco product for recreational use would be the appropriate choice for government and it will not restrict people's freedom and choices.
