Model Answer:
Social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter have become integral parts of our daily lives, especially for young people. However, there is a divide in opinions regarding the impact of these platforms on young people's personal relationships. Some argue that social media hinders genuine connections, while others believe it brings people together in beneficial ways. This essay will explore both perspectives and opine that social media can bring people together and strengthen young people's communication and relationship.

Those who perceive social media as detrimental to personal relationships argue that it creates a superficial sense of connection. They contend that online interactions lack the depth and authenticity of face-to-face communication, hindering individuals' ability to form meaningful relationships. Furthermore, excessive use of social media can lead to decreased social skills and increased social isolation, as young people may prioritize virtual interactions over real-world interactions. For instance, studies have shown that excessive use of social media is associated with increased feelings of loneliness and depression.

On the other hand, proponents argue that social media platforms have the potential to connect individuals and foster positive relationships. These platforms allow people to bridge geographical barriers, reconnect with old friends, and discover communities with shared interests. Social media can serve as a platform for building networks, raising awareness about social causes, and facilitating collaboration on a global scale. For instance, social media has played a crucial role in organizing social and political movements, allowing individuals to unite and advocate for change. It has also enabled people to share their stories, support one another, and find a sense of belonging in online communities.

In conclusion, while some argue that social media hinders genuine connections and interpersonal skills, others emphasize the potential for these platforms to bring people together and foster positive relationships. In my opinion, social media can be a blessing. By using social media mindfully and fostering face-to-face interactions, individuals can make relationships stronger.

Social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram have currently transformed into an essential part of our daily lives. Currently, it is nearly impossible to think about living without social media. That is why, many people claim that we can not do without social media, and also claims that due to the fact that such platforms help people build worth boundaries. Meanwhile, others claim that quite on the contrary that social media do exactly the opposite. In this essay, we will cover both opinions.

Firstly we are going to discuss the first point of view that says social media platforms provoke people to drift apart. This group states that as we get more into virtual life, the more we are apart from real-life interactions. This might be true as we no longer see kids playing on the streets, well, at least not as we were used to do it in the past. Furthermore, recent studies carried out by many European Universities have demonstrated that now people interact less face-to-face with their friends than in the last decade, which may be a strong argument to take this as a truth.

On the other hand, people who state that social media brings us together says that social media allows us to connect with people all around the world. This is true according to my own opinion due to the fact that social media has allowed me to maintain good communication with some relatives in the USA. People who stand up for this statement also say that social media gives us the possibility of making part of a group with shared interests.

In my opinion, both points of view have grounds for their belief. It is up to us how we use this technological marvel. If we use it sensibly and take advantage of it, we can make relationships even stronger. However, if we get lost in a virtual world, it can diminish our real-life relationships.
