Describe a special meal that you remember having with others.

You should say:

  •  where you had the meal
  •  who you were with
  •  when you had it

and explain why it was a special meal for you.

 

Model Answer 1:

I think that most people in this world like to enjoy foods, especially, if they are prepared in a special manner. Today, I would like to talk about one such special meal which I remember having with my friends about a few months ago.

Anyway, I like pizza – all kinds of pizza – whether they are made with meats or vegetables, have a lot of cheese or bacon. So, what makes pizzas so special apart from their awesome taste? Well, the answer is - "the way a pizza is made, the efforts needed to make it and the texture of this round-shaped food – all make it very special from start to finish".

No wonder that I travel miles to eat this special food just like I travelled on that occasion with my friends to a very popular Italian restaurant in my hometown. By the way, I had visited this particular restaurant many times in the past, and so, I was a familiar face to most of the staff there. So, when I and my friends asked the manager of that restaurant to add some extra ingredients, apart from the regular pizza items, he gladly decided to oblige.

We also told the manager to share our pizza with the rest of the customers in his restaurant in order to collect their opinions about the new taste of our pizza. The manager agreed to our second request as well. Finally, the pizzas were served with some specially made fruit salad on the side. Initially, we were a bit sceptical about the taste of our pizzas, but when we actually tried them, they tasted remarkable.  

Well, we all felt that our pizza meal was special, primarily because we had them prepared in a different way with different kinds of ingredients. Needless to say, it was a special meal also because it just didn’t taste great but also unique. Finally, it was a special meal because it allowed all of my friends to get together after a long time and have a great time in a very friendly environment.

 

Sample Answer 2:

I have had many special meals in my life as I love food. I also took part in many celebrations and parties to enjoy some good food. And among them, the meal I had with my teachers and classmates in my high school was very distinctive. I still remember it, and here I will share it with you.

I had this noteworthy meal at our school community centre. The meal was arranged as part of our farewell party. It was held on an evening in November, around 8 years ago. Some of our teachers, classmates and our guardians were present in it. My father was also present that day though he usually avoids social parties and large gatherings. He sat next to me while we enjoyed this notable meal that was basically a buffet dinner with more than 30 delightful items.

Well, it was a special meal because this was the last meal I had with my classmates who had been my friends for more than four years. I was a bit sad to admit to myself that I won’t see most of them in my life again, and I was happy that I had such a good memory of my school, teachers and friends. The occasion made the meal such special. But, please don't get me wrong as I must mention here that each item that I tasted was highly delicious. My father also praised the meal and the ambience.  

There was a short speech by a couple of teachers, guardians, and students. After that, the meal was served. Many delicious items were served in the buffet feast, and we all ate voraciously as we were hungry. I enjoyed the vegetable, seafood and dessert items the most. I returned home late at night with my father and started feeling that I would never forget this event and the nice meal that I had with my teachers, friends and my father.
