Map - The town of Garlsdon

Sample Answer 1:
The given map shows two possible locations for the planned supermarket in Garsdon City. As is presented in the illustration, the city has a population of more than 65 thousand and the two possible locations for the supermarket are near Hindon area and in the middle of the industrial area.

Overall, the first location (S1) would be both away from the town centre and out of the crowd, which would be more convenient for the citizens of Hindson area, while the second location (S2) would be advantageous for the people of Bransdon and Cransdon area.

According to the map, the railway surrounds the city and intersects the city almost in the middle. There are main roads for transportation and countryside surrounds the main housings and industries of the city. The housing of the city is mainly in the North and South sides of the city and the town centre is in the middle of the industrial area. The first possible location for the planned supermarket is near the Hindon area where almost ten thousand inhabitants live and the location is in the north-west corner. This location would be ideal for the Hindon people for shopping but the people of Crandon and Brandon, which have great more population, would be far away from this supermarket. The second possible location which is almost in the centre of the city would be surrounded by industrial zones and housings in the North and South sides of the city. This would be an ideal place as it would connect all the shoppers in the three parts of the city. Since the railway passes near this location, this would be a better place in terms of communication as well.

Sample Answer 2:
The illustration gives information on the possible places to construct a supermarket in Garlsdon. Overall, it is clearly shown that one of the possible sites of a supermarket is in the countryside while the other in the town centre.

Firstly, it is apparent that the first site of the supermarket (S1) is located in the countryside where it is far away from the town centre and residential places. However, it is reachable by the public from the town centre and their housing areas by train and other transports on roads as there are a railway track and the main road connecting the supermarket and town centre. In addition, although it is located near to Hendon, its location is far away from Bransdon and Gransdon which have a higher population than Hindon.

Turning to the second possible site of the supermarket (S2), it is apparent that, it is situated in the centre of the town where every citizen in the town can easily access. It is fairly convenient for those living in Hindon and Gransdon as there are two ways to reach it, either by train or through the main roads. On the other hand, those from Bransdon can only visit the supermarket through the main road.

Two possible sites for the supermarket are shown on the map of Garlsdon. Garlsdon is an industrial city which has a total population of around 65,000.

Garlsdon is surrounded by countryside and has a maintained infrastructure in terms of transportation. A railway runs through the middle of the city, thus making it convenient for people to move and transport. Housing is available at the top and bottom of industrial areas. There are main roads which also make it easier for the people to move around.

The map illustrates that position S1 is close to 10000 people of the town Hindon, and is located in the countryside of Garlsdon. People from Garlsdon and other cities can reach the market via train or main roads. Whereas, the second position S2 is in the middle of the town, where there is no traffic, and is much close to the two neighbouring towns, namely, Cransdon and Bransdon, which has a total population of 44000 people in total. It must be noticed that S2 has easy access to a greater number of people than S1.

The given map shows two possible sites- S1 and S2, in the town of Garlsdon for constructing a new supermarket.

S1 is located on the north side of the Garlsdon town and is also surrounded by Railway tracks. It has access to housing, industrial area, and the two regions Hindon and Garlsdon which are connected via the main road and railway tracks respectively. People who travel daily by railway and people from Hindon and Garlsdon may have easier access to S1. The main drawback of the proposed location S1 is that it is located in the countryside, so people from Brandson will be less benefitted.

On the other hand, S2 is surrounded by housing and industrial regions and is mainly located in the town center. S2 can be advantageous as people from Brandson and Gransdon and the railway line passes nearby this location. As it is a no-traffic zone, it may create some inconveniences for the people visiting because they cannot park their vehicles nearby.

Thus, both of the proposed sites are not perfect but it's clear that the main drawback of S1 is that it is located in the countryside and for S2, there is no traffic zone.

In summary, the second location (S2) would be a better place for the supermarket. This statement is providing an opinion. Shouldn’t we avoid giving an opinion in writing task 1?
I also want to be clarified on this. If someone knows about it, then kindly share your knowledge.

The supplied map compares two possible locations for a proposed new supermarket in Garlsdon town. Overall, the key feature of the map is that 65 thousand people live in Garlsdon town, the railway line intersects the city almost in the middle and both proposed locations have their own sets of advantages.

As is presented in the illustration, there are three different residential areas in Garlsdon and these areas are connected with Garlsdon mainly by highways. The first proposed location for the supermarket, S1, is planned to be located outside of the town, i.e. in a countryside, and it is would be beneficial for Hindon's 10 thousand citizens due to its location. Due to its position outside of the town centre, it might not be able to attract many city living people. This location would not be suitable for the people of Bransdon and Cransdon for the distance mainly.

However, the second location, S2, is proposed in the town centre which elucidates that people in both the industrial and town area can reach there quickly. It would, however, be able to attract the shoppers of two towns, Bransdon and Cransdon that have higher populations.
