Semi-formal Letter

Semi-formal letters are written to people whom we've known socially or personally for some time or have possibly met a few times but do not have a friendly or close relationship with. We also write semi-formal letters to our parents and relatives. These types of letters use formal expression but include personal greetings and wishes. We generally write semi-formal letters to our landlords, neighbours and relatives.
