IELTS Speaking

The IELTS Speaking test is a face-to-face interview with an expert examiner and it lasts between 11 and 14 minutes. It has 3 parts - part 1, 2 and 3.

In part 1 of the test, the examiner asks general questions about the candidate, his/her study, job, family and so on. It lasts between 4 and 5 minutes. In part 2, the examiner gives a topic and the candidate has to talk about it up to 2 minutes. The last part of the test, which is part 3, lasts between 4 and 5 minutes and the examiner in this section asks more abstract questions and those question will be based on the topic given in part 2 of the test.
